hansel & gretel

Hansel and Gretel were born holding hands, nothing can keep them apart. Until one day they are cast out into the forbidden woods with no way home.

Will they ever find one another again? Can they survive the dark, twisting festival of the forest? And what is that powerful smell of candy floss that keeps catching on the wind?

Multi-award winning, Guardian Top 20, local theatre company RBL returned to South Street in 2019 with the same team who created the hugely successful 2018 adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

Hal Chambers' direction has really brought out the best in these actors and it brings the show’s vibrance to life... one of the most fun nights out at the theatre I've had in ages!'
★★★★  A YOUNGER THEATRE

This enchanting production is deftly directed by Hal Chambers... dazzling, all-inclusive theatre at its very best. Don’t miss it!

WHITNEY PUMP

'On arrival, the audience are given glow sticks and face glitter to get in the festival vibe, which comes through in a bumping soundtrack, dance scenes and audience interaction. If you’ve ever been to a trance night, you’ll feel right at home... you will leave upbeat and uplifted.'

EXPLORE RDG

' Very touching... It’s also very meaningful in the way it deconstructs some of the myths and assumptions that surround marginalised people. But most of all, it’s tremendous fun, a bumper evening, fizzing with life.'
