Shakespeare's fierce thriller reimagined with raw power in Hal Chambers' radical adaptation.

The audience were thrust into a high-stakes underworld of politics and betrayal in which Macbeth and her husband carried their recent grief of a lost child and remodelled it into dangerous ambition.

The production was dominated by haunting imagery, thrilling fight sequences and chilling original music. Inspired by Killing Eve and the tone of many a modern horror movie, this Macbeth seared into the memories of the audience.

Featuring a hugely experienced acting company, led by Jessica Baglow (BBC's Gentleman Jack, Shakespeare's Globe) in the title role and Oliver Bennett (Backbeat, West End) as Lord Macbeth.

Macbeth played at the Minster Church, Reading in October/November 2019.
'An overload of our senses with a horror-filled, female-led, post-apocalyptic production...a disturbing production filled with terror, uncertainty and confusion. RBL’s Macbeth is original, thought-provoking, emotional and immersive. I left the Minster feeling emotionally drained and in a state of shell shock.'
